Truck Driver Instructional Video

Every day, dozens of trucks arrive at the OMYA facility to load limestone. With such a high number of drivers entering the site, clear organization, safety procedures, and effective communication are essential. That is why OMYA approached us to create an instructional video that would guide truck drivers through the entire process of moving around the facility in a simple and understandable way.

The result is a multilingual instructional video introducing drivers to the site’s basic safety regulations, navigation rules, and the complete raw material loading process.

From Initial Site Inspection to a Detailed Script

The entire project began with an in-person meeting directly at the OMYA facility in Lipová-lázně. Together with the client, we carefully reviewed the entire loading process step by step and identified all the key situations that needed to be included in the video.

The client then provided us with a draft outline containing all required points, including occupational health and safety requirements. Based on this, we prepared a complete screenplay with all dialogues, scene transitions, and the overall structure of the video.

To make the video as accessible and engaging as possible for the target audience, we decided to use a guide character throughout the film. A female truck driver leads viewers through the entire loading process while personally demonstrating each step. In contrast, a male voiceover was used to explain additional details regarding workplace safety and movement within the facility.

Filming During Operations and in Full Safety Gear

Filming took place over a single day directly inside the limestone plant in Lipová-lázně. Even though operations were partially limited during filming, it was still necessary to carefully coordinate the movement of trucks, crew members, and equipment to avoid disrupting the facility’s workflow.

At the same time, our entire crew had to strictly follow all health and safety regulations. Throughout the shoot, we worked in full protective equipment, which created certain limitations when handling equipment and moving around the location.

One of the biggest challenges was filming each process in a way that would be as clear and understandable as possible for the drivers. The actress had to go through the complete loading procedure herself, including climbing onto the tanker and performing other practical tasks commonly required from truck drivers.

Our role was to visually simplify the entire process, maintain shot continuity, and find the best camera angles so that the video would remain clear and easy to understand, even for first-time visitors to the site.

Six Language Versions for International Drivers

Because OMYA regularly works with drivers from multiple countries, the video had to be prepared in several language versions.

The original version was filmed in Czech and later translated into five additional languages:

  • Polish
  • German
  • English
  • Hungarian
  • Ukrainian

In total, the client received six final versions of the instructional video.

The Result

The final deliverable was a 4K instructional video in 16:9 format with a runtime of approximately three minutes.

We delivered the first edit within two weeks after filming. Several rounds of revisions and localization followed afterward. The entire process — from script development to the final export of all language versions — took approximately two months.

The OMYA project demonstrates that even an instructional video can become a professionally crafted audiovisual tool that improves workplace safety, communication, and orientation for both employees and external drivers operating within the facility.
